FE

Typical Applications:
Soft magnetic material used in applications requiring high magnetic output at lowest cost
such as for cores and solenoids. Also used in low to moderately stressed components such
as firearms sights.
FE-2% Ni

Typical Applications:
Conforms to MPIF MIM-2200 (formerily MIM-4600). Readily case hardened to 50-60 HRC equivalent hardness.
Used for components in firearms, automotive transmissions and steering columns,
and computers. MPIF MIM-4650 material is also available.
FE-50% Ni

Typical Applications: Soft magnetic material used
for applications requiring high permeability and rapid
magnetic response such as valve actuators, torque motors and
relays.

FE-3% Si

Typical Applications:
Soft magnetic material used in applications requiring high magnetic output with low core
losses such as for cores, solenoids, armatures, and stators. Also may be used as a structural
material due to outstanding combination of strength and ductility.
FE-8% Ni

Typical Applications:
Conforms to MPIF MIM-2700. Readily case hardened to 50-60 HRC equivalent hardness. Used
for components in firearms, automotive transmissions and steering cloumns, and computers.
FE-5% Mo

Typical Applications:
Soft magnetic material used for DC applications requiring a combination
of high magnetic output and very good mechanical properties.
4140 Steel

Typical
Applications: Used for applications requiring a
combination of high strength and good ductility, such as for
firearms and hand tools.
